The origin of the term Gurkha traces back to the Anglo-Nepalese war when British soldiers admired Nepali fighters and named them Gurkhas. This admiration led to the Gurkhas becoming an official military regiment in the British Indian Army.In the late 19th century, British soldiers in the region began handcrafting cigars using local tobacco. In 1989, Gurkha Cigars was founded by Kaizad Hansotia.
